Wilbert Jean Louis, a notorious escapee from the national penitentiary, was apprehended and then shot dead by Jean Ernest Muscadin, Government Commissioner at the Miragoâne court, this Wednesday, June 5. The capture of Jean Louis took place in an immigration office in Les Cayes.

Wilbert Jean Louis, detained for eight years at the national penitentiary, is suspected of being a member of the dangerous criminal coalition “Viv Ansanm”, led by gang leader Jimmy Cherisier, alias Barbecue.

According to information reaching the editorial office, Jean Louis was trying to obtain a passport from the immigration office in Les Cayes, under the name Loubens Louis-Jean, thus hoping to escape the authorities. It is in this context that Commissioner Jean Ernest Muscadin, whose jurisdiction covers Miragoâne, intercepted him.

Disguised under a false identity, Jean Louis thought he would go unnoticed. However, Commissioner Muscadin’s efforts exposed the deception. Jean Ernest Muscadin brought the escapee back to his jurisdiction. Events took a dramatic turn around midday. In Chalon, Jean Ernest Muscadin executed Wilbert Jean Louis.

If the summary executions of the Government Commissioner at the Miragoâne court Jean Ernest Muscadin are particularly criticized by human rights organizations including the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), they are applauded by the majority of the population highlight the security climate of the southern region, particularly Nippes.
