Press note

We are not accomplices

Port-au-Prince on, April 27, 2024

The *Nou Pap Konplis* structure welcomes and takes note of the installation of the new Presidential Council and thinks that it is imperative during the 24 months for the members of the CP to achieve all those which have been planned in their roadmap, pass this deadline it would be difficult to extend his mandate as mentioned in article 10 of the decree creating the presidential transitional council.

For this, we hope that the council will take all necessary measures to restore order and security in the country with a view to seeing peace and tranquility of mind return to Haitian families.

Despite the reservations expressed about the CP mechanism since its formation; from now on, Nou Pap Konplis recognized in fact that the members of the new Presidential Council have control of the country. As a structure which is very optimistic about the future of the country, we believe that no Haitian would have wished the failure of the current team in power, because the failure of the CP will reinforce our failure on an individual level. and collective, which does not explain why we are going to give carte blanche to the members of the Presidential Council as many think.

*Nou Pap Konplis* urges the new members of the Presidential Council not to minimize what awaits them. Today, we have a country that is almost completely destroyed, which means that more than 80% of the Haitian capital is delivered into the hands of bandits, 70% of our carders who have the means have had to flee the country because of the insecurity, more than 160 thousand people have fled their respective areas in the capital, more than half of whom are children (IOM / UNICEF) unsanitary conditions in all cities and departments of the country, the dizzying rise in the price of fuel , today the gallon of gasoline goes to 1500 gourdes on the market, 5 million people are currently in food insecurity because of the customs which are pillaged, closed without counting the various national roads which are trapped in the hands of the armed men, not to forget the hundreds of thousands of families who lived in the tents.

However, *Nou Pap Konplis* wishes that the members of the Presidential Council take into account the seriousness of the current economic situation. We must always remind them that the very composition of the 7 members of the presidential council are the result of the decline at the highest level of the societal crisis that the country is going through. For this reason, the members of the CP have the responsibility to do everything necessary for the CP to succeed in their missions. This is why before we even begin, we hope to have a complete assessment of the former administration even before the formation of the new government.

*Nou Pap Konplis* continues to urge the members of the presidential council for harmonization and understanding among themselves in order to send a message of national unity to the Haitian people who cannot wait.

The *Nou Pap Konplis* structure hopes that the election to put a president at the head of the CP must take place without delay, which will be favorable for the rapid rise of the new government with an inclusive and participatory Prime Minister in order to send a signal clear with a road map which should take us to the national conference, towards a referendum in order to carry out the elections.

*Nou Pap Konplis* urges the members of the CP to put their individual interests aside in order to surpass themselves and at the same time appeal to the daughters and sons of the country who have proven competence at all levels, especially in international politics and international diplomacy with a view to sitting on the road map for the next government of national unity based on good governance in order not to repeat the same mistakes of the past.

Finally, *Nou Pap Konplis* Invites the members of the presidential council to make their asset declarations as they mentioned in article 8 of the decree establishing the transitional presidential council, with the aim of guaranteeing impartiality themselves. they want to send clear examples for the fight against corruption and impunity at the head of the country.

Haiti must rise from these ashes, we believe in our country. Long live our Haiti, long live the Haitian homeland!!!
