Obituary: Juan Izquierdo died after cardiac arrest
The 27-year-old Uruguayan footballer breathed his last in hospital on Tuesday. The defender of Nacional de Montevideo had collapsed during the match against São Paulo in the Copa Libertadores on August 22 in Brazil.
According to reports, the player’s situation immediately became worrying, and the footballer was treated in Brazil. Tests revealed that everything was due to heart failure, which kept him hospitalized for five days at the Albert Einstein Hospital, where he remained connected to a mechanical ventilator.
The sad and shocking news of the evening came after the official announcement from his club, which confirmed the death of its 27-year-old defender.
