Women’s Olympique Lyonnais continues to reign over Europe! This weekend, the Lyonnaises ensured their qualification for the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League by dominating Roma 4-1 in a match controlled from start to finish. With this success, OL finished the group stage with an impressive 12 points out of 12 possible, confirming their status as favorite for the title.
An exceptional collective performance
Facing a combative Roma, OL quickly set their pace thanks to their formidable team and their world-class individuals. Kadidiatou Diani, sparkling, scored twice to pave the way to victory. His speed and efficiency in front of goal were once again decisive.
Veteran Eugénie Le Sommer, top scorer in the club’s history, also found the net with a masterful strike. Finally, Wendie Renard, the team’s iconic captain, sealed the victory with an unstoppable header from a corner, reminding us why she is one of the best defenders in the world.
A perfect group stage
With this success, the Lyonnaises complete the group stage of the Champions League with a flawless performance: four victories in four matches, 12 points out of 12, and a prolific attack. This record reflects not only their dominance, but also their determination to reclaim their European crown after surrendering the title last season.
