At a press conference on Monday, July 8, Marie Myrtha Jean Louis, spokesperson for the “Aba Satan” organization, which brings together the owners of the houses demolished around Toussaint Louverture airport, called on the authorities to respect the compensation agreement.
“We demand that the mayor of Tabarre, Nice Simon, gives us what we are owed,” she said, recalling that the owners of the destroyed houses must be compensated in accordance with the signed agreement.
Marie Myrtha Jean Louis also stressed the need for citizen collaboration for the good of the country, while deploring that, four months after the start of the process, the majority of owners have still not received their compensation. She called on institutions such as ULCC, UCREF, CSCCA and human rights organizations to investigate to allow victims to receive what is due to them.
The destruction of houses, demanded by airlines for the resumption of flights after the armed attacks last February, remains a matter of great concern.
