On Monday, July 1, 2024, law enforcement officers regained control of the Gressier police station, which had been attacked and occupied the day before by an armed group.
According to available information, this operation was carried out on Monday July 1 by a regional task force, composed of police officers from Nippes, the South-East and the South, set up by the director general of the PNH, Rameau Normil.
The armed bandits were dislodged thanks to the intervention of the police who used automatic weapons. It should be noted that the attackers were trying to destroy the police station using an excavator, which they had to abandon during their escape. This equipment was recovered by the police.
According to the information we have, several members of the armed group were neutralized during the operation. The Gressier police station is now back under the control of the authorities.
Let us recall that the Gressier police station was stormed on Sunday, June 30, 2024, by gang members.
