More than a hundred women’s organizations are demanding from the Presidential Council of the Transition, the appointment of Marie Denise CLAUDE, former candidate for the Senate of the Fusion of Social Democrats party, as Prime Minister of the transition.

These structures, which advocate for inclusive and diverse governance to meet the needs of the entire population, highlight the importance of the representation of women in the highest levels of government, as well as the need to have leaders sensitive to the specific challenges faced by women, who represent more than half of the population.

The experience of Madame CLAUDE, former Minister for the Status of Women and Women’s Rights and leader of political organizations, could bring a unique perspective and valuable expertise to the Prime Minister, they argue. His knowledge of national and international issues could allow him to effectively guide the government in resolving the challenges facing Haiti.

It remains to be seen how the presidential council will react to this request and how this will influence the composition of the next government and future political decisions in Haiti.
