After several months of waiting, Jim Ratcliffe officially becomes 27.7% owner of Manchester United.

A buyout in the pipeline for a while
The transaction had been in rumors for several months, but was just validated last week by the Premier League and the English federation. At 71, Jim Ratcliffe hoped to formalize his arrival in mid-February, and this step has now been taken with the approval of the English authorities. Although the Glazer family remains the majority shareholder, Ratcliffe and Ineos will take charge of the daily management of the sporting part of the club, the British will therefore play a vital role in the prosperity of Manchester United.
