Presidential Council: sectors have announced the formation of an Indissoluble Majority Bloc around Edgard Leblanc.

Groupings and political parties represented on the Transitional Presidential Council including Collectif du 30 Janvier, Accord du 21 Décembre, Pitit Desalin, RED/EDE/Compromis historique have announced that they are signatories of the Indissoluble Majority Bloc (BMI) formed around the president of the presidential council, Edgard Leblanc Fils.

Motivated by the concern to defend the general interest, noting the impossibility of reaching a consensus between those concerned, they proposed during the ballot which was to be organized by Members/Observers at the CP on April 30, 2024, a single candidate for the Presidency of the Presidential Council, in the person of the former Senator Edgard LEBLANC FILS. The BMI welcomes the election of the President of the Presidential Council in a press release.

According to the indissoluble majority bloc, this process must continue, following the procedure outlined by the Agreement of April 3, 2024 in particular articles 6 and 7, among others, by the appointment of a Prime Minister, the formation of a government of national unity, the renewal of political personnel through inclusive and credible elections.

This majority group of Stakeholders encourages stakeholders not to favor particular interests to the detriment of the general interest. They will continue to prioritize tolerance, consensus and respect for democratic rules to guarantee a peaceful transition and an irreversible return to the constitutional order broken since the assassination of President Jovenel Moise on July 7, 2021.
