The Prime Minister just officially took office a few hours ago. Recognizing the emergency in the country, he was quick to take his first actions. Among other things, he designated his chief of staff and expressed his intention to appoint Me Camille Édouard Junior as secretary general of the Prime Minister’s Office.

If nothing changes, the former Minister of Justice of the Republic during the Alexandre/Latortue transition, Camille Édouard Junior, will be appointed Secretary General of the Prime Minister’s Office, according to our information. The Prime Minister, Garry Conille, would have informed his team of his intention to appoint the former Minister of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) to this position.

In addition to the choice of Secretary General, the name of his Chief of Staff, Madelain Fils-Aimé, currently chief of staff to the Director General of ONA, is also revealed. Mr. Conille presented it to his team upon his return to the country last Saturday. In his brief speech during his installation on June 3, 2024, the PM insisted on his desire to act quickly while guaranteeing success.

It should be noted that he chose two people well familiar with the functioning of public administration. On one side, a former minister who led the Ministry of Justice and Public Security during the 2016-2017 transition, and on the other, a man who repeatedly held chief of staff positions with influential figures in the administration. For example, Mr. Fils-Aimé was chief of staff of advisor Fritz Robert Saint-Paul, president of the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA), chief of staff of Joseph Lambert and currently, he is chief of staff office of the DG of ONA.
