Under the direction of new coach Sébastien Migné and his staff, the Haitian football selection is preparing to play a series of crucial matches as part of the 2nd round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Confederation of America North, Central and Caribbean (Concacaf).

On Wednesday June 5, 2024, Haiti will launch its journey in Group C, welcoming the Saint Lucia team at 8 p.m. The Grenadiers will look to get off to a victorious start in this first match, as they aim to secure one of the two qualifying places for the 3rd phase of these qualifiers.

After the Saint Lucia match, Haiti will travel to Barbados to face the local team on Saturday, June 8, at 8:00 PM. The players and the technical staff will have to do everything possible to collect the maximum possible points over these first two days, which would allow them to increase their ambition for the next stage.

Taking into account the Concacaf Nations League, scheduled for the FIFA windows of September, October and November 2024, then March 2025, the Grenadiers will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign with a trip to Aruba on Thursday June 5, 2025 followed by the reception of the Curaçao team on Monday June 9. These matches are of capital importance for Haiti which nourishes the hope of making its comeback at the men’s football World Cup, 52 years after its only participation in Germany in 1974.

At the end of these 4 matches, if Haiti manages to rank among the first two in its group, it will advance to the final round, where 12 selections will be divided into three groups of four. Qualification for the World Cup will then be directly at stake, with round-trip matches over six days of competition at the end of which, the three (3) group winners will qualify directly, while the two best runners-up will compete intercontinental dams.

This campaign offers the Grenadiers the opportunity to write a new page in the history of world football, a mission which requires the commitment of all: state authorities, federation, private sector and the entire Haitian population despite the serious crisis that is shaking our country.
