Legendary Kreyòl Rap group Rockfam Lame-a is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, a milestone in the Haitian music industry. Since its formation in 2004, Rockfam has distinguished itself with its unique sound that fuses Creole rhythms with hip-hop influences, building a solid reputation both in Haiti and internationally.
To commemorate this important milestone, the group announced in a press release that it is preparing to launch a new album, composed of 20 tracks, symbolizing its artistic evolution while remaining faithful to its roots. This opus, a true tribute to its fans and Haitian culture, marks its continued dedication to Rap Kreyòl.
In 2025, Rockfam will embark on an international tour that will take them to the United States, Haiti, and Europe. This tour, which promises to be a major event for Haitian music lovers, will offer fans the opportunity to relive the intensity and passion of Rockfam’s performances.
The band will also have the honor of representing Haiti at the Labor Day Parade on Eastern Parkway in New York City on September 2, 2024. This flagship event of Caribbean culture will see Rockfam share the international stage, demonstrating their pride in their roots and their commitment to making Haitian music shine around the world.
Over the course of his two-decade career, Rockfam Lame-a has left an indelible mark on Rap Kreyòl with iconic albums such as Pa Gen Pase’n, Demaske, Afiche’w, Yon Lòt Vizion, and Sa’w Pa Ka Konprann. His rise to fame was marked by his first major performance at the RapRocher Festival in 2005, which solidified his status in the Haitian music scene.
Today, with 12 members, including founding member Atros, Rockfam continues to influence and inspire the next generation of artists. Their music, centered on themes of Haitian identity, resilience, and pride, remains a powerful vector of Haitian culture.
