Roller skates: the young Haitian skater, Gesny Pierre Louis, champion of the “Segundo clasificatorio inline freestyle mundial Italia 2024” competition.
Haitian skater, Gesny Pierre Louis, won the II clasificatoria Rumbo a Italia competition which took place in Valdivia, Chile, from February 2 to 4, 2024. The native of Cité Soleil finished in first place with a jump of 1.30 cm in height. During an interview with Juno7, he expressed his satisfaction for having won this new title and asks for the support of the Haitian population so that he can take a new step in this area.
“I am very happy to have won this competition with a jump of 1.30 cm,” he said. “I ask for the support of the Haitian population. I have economic difficulties which prevent me from carrying out and continuing this wonderful work. My goal is to make the Haitian bicolor float on a global scale. But I don’t have sponsors or a federation that represents this sport,” he added to show the difficulties he faces.
Despite the numerous difficulties encountered by Gesny Pierre Louis, he never gave up and continues to improve his performances in this sporting discipline. He won this competition with a jump of 1.30 cm in height. The second place in the competition jumped 1.25 cm high. “To satisfy the public, I asked to raise the bar to 1.35 cm and I managed to exceed it,” he said.
Gesny Pierre Louis remains a third competition before the skating world cup which will take place in Italy. For some time, Gesny Pierre has always had the support of Azor Byrel, a Haitian who owns a travel agency called Viajes Pam. The young skater never stops thanking his compatriot who helped him economically.
However, Gesny Pierre Louis says he remains open to other benefactors who wish to provide their support. “Gesny remains open to any collaboration. Let’s encourage young Haitians who carry out positive work in the community. The image of Haiti will be sold differently on the international scene,” he said.
Remember that he won the roller skating competition called “Liga Nacional” which took place in Chile, in the city Concepción, on December 2 and 3, 2023. Last July, he won first prize in the national roller skating competition. roller skates “Winterider Cup” organized in Talca, Chile. He won this competition at a height of 1.35 cm.
