The economist Ronald Gabriel was installed this Monday, October 9 as governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti in the presence of personalities representing the government, members of the High Council of the Transition, members of the financial sector and partners of the Central Bank.
During a ceremony held at the Antonio André convention and documentation center, the new governor of the BRH Ronald Gabriel officially took office this Monday, October 9. The other executives making up the new Board of Directors Georges Henry, vice-governor, Fortunat Mathieu, general manager, as well as the two members Delerme Michelle, and Jean Marie Florient also took office.
In his speech, the new governor set the objective of: controlling inflation without constraining growth and employment; sustained support for export activities in line with the development of high-potential sectors; the use of taxation as a tool to encourage the production of tradable goods capable of reducing the weight of imports, always in accordance with sectors with high potential; the promotion of a viable budgetary framework in an environment rich in production and trade activities to create the best conditions for the success of budgetary and fiscal reforms; the release of constraints, particularly of a budgetary nature, to the effectiveness of monetary and credit policy as one of the prerequisites for the development of a financial sector integrated into the economic and social sectors.
