Armed individuals were killed by agents of the Haitian National Police in Gressier.
Present in the commune of Gressier for almost a week in order to restore order following the invasion of armed gangs in this commune, agents of the Haitian National Police killed several armed bandits in Gressier this Sunday, 19 May 2024. According to a note from the police institution, these individuals were killed in exchanges of fire with law enforcement officers.
During this intervention, PNH agents confiscated assault rifles and cell phones. Police imputation underlines that the collaboration of the population remains a major asset for the police in accomplishing their mission.
Remember that armed gangs attacked the police station in Gressier on the evening of Friday, May 10, 2024. According to the Association of Owners and Drivers of Haiti (APCH), a public transport driver who was not far from the police station was injured by two bullets, and transported to a hospital to receive the treatment his case requires.
Through a note, the Haitian National Police had announced that in less than 48 hours, she took control of the police station. Images of police celebrating the end of the operation to retake the building were circulating on social networks.
