The police present the facts which led to a shooting against a minibus in Port-au-Prince.
While the first information led us to believe that an armored tank of the Haitian National Police opened fire on a minibus in Port-au-Prince this Tuesday, May 7, 2024, a police source contacted by Juno7 stressed that the vehicle was not the target of the police.
“Unfortunately, this bus going to Carrefour was seized by heavily armed individuals who exchanged fire with police officers who were inside the tank” declares this police source, emphasizing that the thugs had seized the minibus in order to use it as cover to their base.
In this sense, our source confirmed that the killed and injured passengers were collateral victims. “The police couldn’t do anything because the thugs were inside the bus” she laments.
It should be noted that according to an initial assessment, at least 4 people were killed and around ten were injured.
