This Monday, November 11, 2024 is a day of great tension in Haiti. As a result, a Spirit Airlines plane was hit by aircraft as it landed at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, the machine finally had to head towards an airport in the Dominican Republic, where it was able to land in complete safety. According to the Miami Herald, at least one person, a flight attendant, was shot and injured.
Faced with this situation, airport authorities have temporarily suspended all commercial flights. Flight tracking revealed that JetBlue Airways and Amerijet Cargo planes heading to Haiti had to turn around.
Spirit Airlines flights are suspended as of Monday, November 11, due to tensions in Port-au-Prince. The resumption of flights to the Haitian capital is scheduled for November 21, 2024.
