Closing of the first edition of the MADE IN HAITI EXPO fair: a celebration of Haitian production and corporate social responsibility.
Following the resounding success of the first edition of the MADE IN HAITI EXPO, held on Saturday, July 13 at the El Rancho Convention Center, a closing cocktail was held on July 18 to honor the various sponsors and exhibitors. This event marked an important step in the promotion of Haitian production, crowned by a series of awards distributed to several participants through a raffle.
Notable prizes offered included a PAP – Miami round-trip ticket, generously provided by Sunrise, and a Denyo generator, donated by Auto-Meca. In addition to these prizes, a contribution of 300,000 gourdes was awarded to the Canado Technique and Haïti Tech institutions, aimed at supporting young students at these institutions.
BRANA, Plastech Haiti, and Farmatrix have been recognized with the “Socially Responsible Business Award” for their exceptional commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This distinction recognizes their significant efforts in favor of sustainable development and the promotion of ethical values in their operations.
Present at the cocktail, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. James Monazard, stressed the importance of an ongoing dialogue between the private sector and the government to improve the business climate and strengthen quality control of products on the market, thus ensuring consumer protection. He reiterated the determination of the Garry Conille government to ensure a secure environment conducive to local and foreign private investment.
Emmanuel Grégory Morissette, Executive Director of EGM Strategy & Management and General Coordinator of MIH Expo, said that EGM events place a particular emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility. “The idea is to have value shared with the community and the immediate environment,” he said, highlighting the scholarships offered to the Canado-Technique and Haïti Tec schools to support the country’s future technicians, electromechanics, and engineers.
