The closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, scheduled for this Sunday, August 11 at the Stade de France, promises to be an unforgettable event. After fifteen days of intense competition and celebrations, the final show, designed by director Thomas Jolly, will begin at 9 p.m. This show, entitled Recordsaims to pay tribute to the athletes who have marked these Games with their performances and their spirit of fair play.
The ceremony will be a real journey through time, mixing past and future, with a spectacular staging transforming the Stade de France into a huge performance hall. Nearly a hundred performers, acrobats, dancers, and circus artists will take part in this show, accompanied by an original soundtrack and new reinterpretations.
Many international and French stars will be there. Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to perform memorable performances, notably to mark the transition between Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028. On the French side, Zaho de Sagazan, Yseult, as well as the groups Air and Phoenix will contribute to this festive musical moment.
Highlights include Tom Cruise performing an impressive rappel, adding an adrenaline-pumping touch to the evening. HER will perform the US national anthem, while Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will receive the Olympic flame, symbolizing the passing of the torch to the next Summer Olympics.
The French flag bearers, rugby player Antoine Dupont and the new Olympic mountain bike champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, will also be in the spotlight, proudly representing the French delegation in this ceremony which promises to be a mixture of emotion, music, and celebration of sporting achievements.
