“If the police shoot at us, we will call the Bsap”
In Cap-Haitien, Ouanaminthe, Hinche and on February 6 in Port-au Prince, the Protected Areas Surveillance Brigade (Bsap) stood as one with the people in their demands and in their struggle.
She is officially committed to following in the footsteps of the people, knowing that popular demands are not foreign to them since all Bsap agents come from poor neighborhoods and are exploited or disadvantaged workers, living in slums in the same way. and under the same conditions as the people.
It is with repeated cries, at the top of their lungs: “ Live Bsap! Abas the police !,” that in the second city of the country the great popular march took place supervised by the soldiers of the Bsap. As in the construction of the irrigation canal on the Massacre River in Ouanaminthe, the Bsap united with its class brothers and sisters to defend a national cause or a national project.
And reciprocally, the people gave him great support in the face of the de facto government’s plans to put an end to the service of the agents of this group.
It is quite clear, there is a mountain of difference between the approach of the Bsap and that of the Haitian National Police towards the people. The Pnh devotes itself to repressing the masses to satisfy the wishes of its bosses of the bourgeoisie and those in power, while the Bsap refuses to accept any order coming from the authorities which does not fall within the framework of popular aspirations. The police who should protect and serve the people are only doing the opposite by leaving Bsap agents to fill this hole.
It is in this context that agents of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP) protested in the streets of Ouanaminthe, shoulder to shoulder with the people in order to denounce the inappropriate, reactionary behavior of the power in place.
It is in this vein that the agents of the Bsap took the opportunity to express their fed up with the executive precisely against Prime Minister Ariel Henry. They declared “ We unreservedly support any movement that aims to force Ariel Henry to resign. The country is not governed. It is incapable of meeting the needs of the Haitian people. No question of continuing to live with such an incompetent man »
The agents of the Bsap are so determined to fight to defend the interests of the Nation that they threaten to confront all those people who have lost their compass to oppose the popular movement claiming the right to life of the people .
Furthermore, the government is so afraid of the BSAP that it not only dismissed its general director in the person of Jeantel Joseph on January 23, 2024 to replace him with a technical restructuring commission composed of coordinator Frantz Daniel Pierre, Prénor members Coudo, Jean Lyonel Trécil, inspector general of the Haitian National Police (Pnh), Verby B. Jean, lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Haiti (Fadh) and Jean Neslie Élie. It should be noted that the dismissal of the director of the National Agency for Protected Areas (ANAP) Jeantel Joseph would have taken place after members of the BSAP expressed their support for the Haitian people in the fight for change.
