Barring a last-hour decision, the nine-member Presidential Council imposed by CARICOM will be installed on April 25, 2024 at the Prime Minister’s Welcome Villa. At the same time, the December 4 Collective, which supports the Cassation approach, warns the new leaders. He urges them not to make the same mistakes as their predecessors or think of trampling on the Constitution.
The official date of the installation of the Presidential Council is known. This brand new model taken from the CARICOM reserve will indeed be installed this Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Welcome Villa at the Prime Minister’s Office. A small number of personalities are invited and the observer member, representative of the EDE bloc and allies, Régine Abraham will speak on behalf of the group. As for the election to elect the Council coordinator, it can still wait.
At the same time, the December 4 Collective says it takes note of the agreement signed between the nine entities. He said he expects from this new team the rapid restoration of security, economic recovery and reinstitutionalization of the country. Because, specifies the collective, the population is out of breath. The collective also warns against any desire to flout the Constitution for petty purposes.
“Moreover, the December 4 Collective recalls that if the absence of a constitutional mechanism allows the acceptance of this solution imposed on the nation, the violation of the legal framework of the Republic on the functioning of the presidency and of government, on the functioning of the judiciary, and on the functioning of ministries and other institutions. What was criticized yesterday against the former leaders cannot be reproduced by their replacements (former detractors, new leaders). Too often, the political game takes over
above on the administration of the State. We are all paying very dearly for the consequences today.”
The collective concludes to invite the happy advisors to action. “It is therefore urgent to restore the rule of law, order and peace in the country. May our two constitutional and legal institutions be strengthened and supervised in order to fully play
their respective role. From then on, the PNH will take care of public security while the FAD’H
will ensure National Security and Territorial Integrity. All those who live in our country only ask to be able to freely go about their business throughout the entire territory”.
