The PNH receives a batch of equipment from international partners

Toussaint Louverture International Airport was the scene of the reception of a large batch of personal protective equipment intended for the Haitian National Police (PNH) this Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Frantz Elbé, director general of the police institution, accompanied by members of the high command, personally welcomed this delivery.

“The equipment received by the director general of the PNH includes helmets, ballistic shields, bulletproof vests and other materials necessary for the physical security of police officers who run significant risks in the exercise of their missions,” can be we read in a publication from the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti on X (formerly Twitter)

This equipment was provided thanks to the fund established (Basket Fund) by various partners of the international community, a gesture of solidarity aimed at supporting the PNH in its efforts to maintain order.

“Donor countries and the United Nations intend to continue to provide the PNH with additional resources to ensure better protection of police officers to help them carry out their mission of restoring security in the country,” adds BINUH.

During this reception ceremony, Frantz Elbé reiterated the commitment and determination of the PNH to strengthen its operational capacities to effectively combat crime in all its forms.

The press and public relations coordination, through its audiovisual production unit “Allô la Police”, also broadcast image sequences of this reception to the public.
