The real enemies of the people? They are those gentlemen in three-piece suits, who strut around with our Petrocaribé millions in their deep pockets. They walk freely here and elsewhere in Western capitals, as if the streets were their kingdom, while we, poor mortals, remain in the dark, literally and figuratively.
Then there are those who, at every meeting, promise the moon, but who never lift a finger to put the squanderers behind bars. They prefer to hug them than see them behind bars. What an admirable brotherhood!
And then there are those conspirators, those who in the shadows share glasses of champagne with the squanderers. Their whispered conversations are more venomous than snakes. Ah, those nocturnal schemers!
As for those who are bent on creating electoral bodies, it is to better prepare the triumphant return of their squandering cronies. They talk to us about democracy, but they serve us tyranny on a silver platter.
Let’s not forget the smart people who buy weapons in Israel, smuggle them through Canada and make them disappear through customs. These men are real magicians! The weapons disappear as if by magic, while the violence remains very much present.
And finally, these men in ties, these figureheads of corruption, sanctioned here and there, continue to hold forth in Haitian politics as if nothing had happened. Their tongues are sharp, but their actions are poisoned.
Dr. Conille, don’t you think that those who steal the Constitution are also enemies of the people? Those who collude with the occupier, those who plan referendums violating the Constitution are also enemies of the people. Didn’t you see it that way? We are sparing you the reconstruction funds after January 12.
Yes, dear politician, the real enemies of the people are these white-collar puppeteers, pulling the strings of our destiny. But rest assured, the people are not fooled. One day, these enemies will be unmasked, and the real heroes will rise, and then, justice, true justice, will reign.
