The residence of the Director General of the Haitian National Police was set on fire by armed individuals in Santo.
The Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, Me Jean Edler Guillaume confirmed for Juno7 that armed individuals looted and then set fire this Thursday, March 14, 2024, the residence of the Director General of the Haitian National PoliceFrantz Elbé in Santo 17.
“At present, the police authorities are trying to prevent the worst,” declared the head of the Port-au-Prince Public Prosecutor’s Office, specifying that the thugs also have his house in Santo in their sights.
A police source contacted by Juno7 stressed that authorities are preparing to respond to the gangs as quickly as possible.
It should be noted that at the time of writing this article (4:00 p.m.), heavy gunfire is being heard in Plaine where gang groups want to impose their law at all costs.
