State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller gives Haitian actors a 48-hour ultimatum to agree on the appointment of the Presidential Council

The spokesperson for US Department of State increases the pressure on the various stakeholders with a view to the establishment of the Presidential Council. Matthew Miller said he expects the appointment of Presidential Council members within 24 to 48 hours.

Following this appointment Matthew Miller expects the appointment of a new Prime Minister. If the different political parties cannot find common ground, a plan B will be proposed.

But already the information we have suggests that the platforms or political groups will not be ready in time. Without mentioning them by name, some actors find it difficult to believe that the 48-hour deadline will be respected while others have simply refused to be part of this new process which, in their opinion, does not respect the constitution.
