The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) organized a commemoration ceremony entitled “Time for reflection and contemplation in memory of the late President Jovenel Moïse assassinated on July 7, 2021”. This event was held at the Villa d’Accueil in the presence of Prime Minister Garry Conille, his government, the High Staff of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), the acting DG of the PNH Rameau Normil, and other distinguished personalities.
During this ceremony, Father Frantznel Limite greeted the departure of the late HE Jovenel Moïse in his message, reports a government press release.
Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), delivered a speech, inviting the Haitian nation to honor the memory of Jovenel Moïse, 58th President of the Republic, declaring that his assassination is a “tragedy that the country should never relive.” He called on men and women, of all persuasions, to learn to accept each other, unite and live together beyond their differences.
Leblanc also stressed the need for justice for the late president and his family, saying: “If the late President Moïse and his family do not get justice, what other ordinary citizen, minister, prime minister or even President of the Republic will be safe from such a threat? Nobody. Really nobody.”
The CPT President urged the administration of Prime Minister Garry Conille to take all necessary measures to ensure justice is done, saying that “all means necessary [doivent être] be granted to the judge in charge of the case, as well as to the Government Commissioner, so that in complete independence, the case is pursued and concluded in accordance with the procedures and the law.”
