Towards the first edition of Haitian Book and Media Day in New York

New York City is preparing to host the first edition of Haitian Book and Media Day on April 20 and 21, 2024.

Nationals from all countries of the world and the Haitian community in the United States in particular are eagerly awaited in this great book festival which will be held in Gateway Christian Center 502, North Central Avenue, Valley Stream, New York 11580.

More than 30 authors, musicians and journalists are invited to take part in this event which aims to be grandiose.

For this first edition, two great figures of the Haitian intelligentsia are the subject of Guests of Honor. They are Lyonel DESMARATTES (Journalist, Writer, Poet) and Darlène LOZIS (Writer, Editor and Moderator). Other personalities from literary and media circles have carte blanche to participate in this fair. Note: Gary S. DANIEL, Manno EJÈN, Jean Robert PLACIDE, Anivince JEAN BAPTISTE, Anderson DOVILAS, Evens-Edson MAURICE (Psy’M), Jacques TROUILLOT, Wilkens Scott FIFI, Idran AMIRTHONAYAGAM, Iléus PAPILLON, Mei LAMOTHE, Edenne ROC , Jean DOMOND, John Evens DOUYON, etc.

Jean RÉFUSÉ, the mastermind behind this activity, Gary S. DANIEL, one of the instigators, the Haitian American Foundation for Education and Cultural Exchange (HAFECE) and Radio Télévision Haitiana, two main institutions supporting this initiative, invite you to come celebrate the thought, the plural creativity of Haitian literature and media in New York.

Around the theme: “Let’s explore the plural thought and creativity of Haitian literature and media” a rich and diverse menu is reserved for you:

– Writing workshop

– Tributes

– Testimonials

– Artistic performance

– Met

– Signing of works

– Round tables and conferences.

Haitian Book and Media Day is supported by a constellation of structures and personalities. We will note among other things:
