While waiting for the major government project, the SNGRS is beginning the sanitation of the metropolitan area, under the high patronage of the MICT.
For several days, the streets of Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas have been completely clogged with waste. In order to deal with this phenomenon which is a threat to the health of the population, the National Solid Waste Management Service (SNGRS), under the High Patronage of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities, has begun the sanitation of the metropolitan area, while waiting for the major project of the government in place.
According to the Deputy Director General of the SNGRS, Max Alex Joseph, this initiative is also taken in partnership with other state institutions, such as: the town halls of Pétion-Ville and Port-au-Prince, the National Equipment Center (CNE) and the DDO.
In his statements, Max Alex Joseph informs that since last Friday, a waste deposit that represented a threat in Debrosse, Pétion-Ville has been removed. “We are committed to doing our best so that all the streets in the metropolitan area are free,” he said.
