Three people were killed and 10 others injured in a mass shooting at a supermarket in Arkansas on Friday, authorities said.
Police responded to the call about the shooting at the Mad Butcher supermarket in Fordyce, about 70 miles south of Little Rock, around 11:30 a.m., Arkansas State Police said.
According to police, three civilians were killed and eight others injured, some in extremely critical condition.
Two law enforcement officers were also hit by gunfire, but their injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.
In addition to the 13 people killed or injured, the only suspect was injured by law enforcement, but his injuries were not fatal. The suspect was taken into custody, police said.
The situation is under control, police said.
Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she was informed of the shooting.
The FBI said it would send personnel to the scene to assist state and local police.
