The news spread like a bomb in Haiti. Stéphane Désir, the eldest son Luckner Désir (Louko) committed suicide. The young man who should soon graduate in engineering, was run over on Friday June 14, 2024, in Florida, by a train, his father said.

The son of the former candidate for the 2015 presidential election committed suicide on the morning of Friday June 14, 2024, in Florida, United States.
The announcement was made by his father when he was co-hosting the show on Télé Éclair.
According to Louko, Stéphane was killed by a train by throwing himself onto a railway line, while a train was traveling there, thus leaving him no chance.
« The family can’t even collect his remains to organize his funeral », laments Luckner Désir who mourns the tragic death of his son with whom he spoke on Thursday evening by telephone to continue planning his graduation at the end of June 2024, in engineering.
