The Haitian National Police (PNH) published two partial lists of escapees from different civil prisons in the country subject to wanted notices, on May 6, 2024, announcing that all escapees will be sought. This Wednesday, May 8, the police institution published a new list of around sixty escapees from the national penitentiary, the subject of wanted notices.
In the first police press release published on May 6, the PNH informed that the head of the PNH, Frantz Elbé, had ordered several departmental directorates to track down the escapees and put them in their place.
Escapees subject to wanted notices from the police institution come from the national penitentiary of Haiti, the civil prison of Croix-des-Bouquets, Cabaret and Port-de-Paix.
Note that the national penitentiary of Port-au-Prince was attacked by the coalition of “viv ansanm” gangs, causing nearly 4,000 escapees, who headed in large numbers to the Village de Dieu, according to available information.
