Eight departments are under threat of thunderstorms this Thursday, August 29, 2024, according to forecasts from the Haitian weather service which reports the presence of a tropical wave (OT37) in the center of the tropical Atlantic.
Indeed, the departments of Grand’Anse, Sud, Nord, Nord-Est, Nord-Ouest, Artibonite, Ouest and Centre could receive light to moderate thunderstorm showers according to the Haitian weather service.
Further on, the Hydrometeorological Unit of Haiti (UHM) explains that the passage of a “tropical wave (OT36) not very active over Hispaniola” intensified the humidity of the air mass over the region, causing showers.
These rainy activities, which could extend to the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, are expected in the afternoon and evening, indicates the UHM in its bulletin this morning.
The minimum temperature could drop to 22 degrees Celsius. The maximum will be around 38 degrees Celsius.
