Thunderstorms are still expected in several departments of the Republic of Haiti this Thursday, July 4, despite the fact that Hurricane Beryl, which caused “minor damage” to housing in the far south, has moved away from the southern coast of the country.
A tropical wave generating showers over the eastern part of the Caribbean Sea characterizes the weather conditions in the Greater Antilles, including Haiti.
Consequently, “moderate to heavy rain showers, sometimes thunderstorms, are expected in several departments of Haiti” announced the Hydrometeorological Unit of Haiti (UHM), specifying that these rainy activities are expected in the afternoon and evening.
The South, South-East, Grand-Anse, Nippes, Artibonite, West and Centre are the departments affected by these showers, indicates the UHM.
The minimum temperature for this Thursday could drop to 20 degrees Celsius while the maximum varies between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius.
