The Hydrometeorological Unit of Haiti, (UHM) announces “stormy and sustained showers” in several regions of Haiti, including the far north, for this Friday, June 7, 2024.
In its latest bulletin presenting the synoptic situation in the Caribbean region, the UHM says it forecasts heavy showers in several departments of Haiti due to the passage of a tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea as well as a trough located to the north of ‘Haiti.
These heavy rains can cause flash floods and landslides in the watersheds of the North-West, North, North-East, Artibonite, Center and West departments.
The southern region will not be spared from rainy activities. They will be “weak” and “moderate”, warned the UHM stressing that they could become “strong” and “sustained” in the evening and during the night.
For Port-au-Prince and its surroundings, the UHM announces cloudy skies accompanied by showers in the afternoon and evening.
The maximum temperature for this Friday, June 7, 2024 could rise to 34 degrees Celsius while the minimum is around 22 degrees Celsius.
