Definitively, Garry Conille is no longer Prime Minister. He was ousted from the Prime Minister’s office by a Presidential Transitional Council hit by major corruption. This Monday, November 11, 2024, his designated replacement, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, received his extension.
By decree signed by 8 eight president-advisors, including the three corrupt people involved in the BNC scandal, the CPT put Garry Conille out of the game. While he had promised to regain control of the country “Kay pa kay, Katye pa katye”, the former UN official showed himself to be incompetent to occupy the post. Under his government, gangs grew stronger. More lost territories are counted, 85% of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince is occupied by armed gangs.
This is Garry Conille’s second failure as head of government. In 2012 under the Presidency of Michel Martelly, he was humiliated by the latter under the pretext of wanting to seize power. In 2024, he experienced the same humiliation, due, it is said, to his political arrogance.
