Olympique Lyonnais continues its flawless run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. This evening, the Lyonnaises recorded an impressive 3-0 victory against AS Roma, in their third outing in the group stage. A success which allows them to consolidate their first place and continue their momentum towards the elimination phases.
The match was marked by the brilliant performance of Melchie Daelle Dumornay, elected player of the match after scoring a decisive double. The young Haitian striker opened the scoring less than ten minutes from the end of the first period. A few minutes later, she doubled the lead with a long-range shot which allowed OL to take off.
Dumornay not only stood out for his efficiency in front of goal, but also for his offensive activity throughout the match. With 5 shots attempted, she was a real danger for the AS Roma defense. Her double left no chance for the Italians, who never managed to react to the collective and individual mastery of the Lyonnaises.
OL, who had opened the way with Dumornay’s first goal, secured the victory thanks to a third goal scored at the start of the second half. This new victory, which marks a perfect record of three successes in as many matches, allows the Lyonnaises to continue to dominate their group, and to move closer to qualifying for the quarter-finals.
