World Happiness Report: Haiti is not part of the list of 143 happiest countries on the planet

On the occasion of World Happiness Day celebrated on March 20, in a report sponsored by the UN a list of 143 happiest countries on the planet was published. There Finland for a seventh consecutive time comes first, followed by Denmarkof the’Iceland and some Sweden. Haiti, ravaged by gang violence and other socio-economic problems, is not on the list. THE UNITED STATES are in 23e position, the France East 27eour Dominican neighbors are 69e. Afghanistan controlled by the Taliban closes this ranking in 143rd place.

Finland 🇫🇮 tops the overall rankings for a seventh successive year but, for the first time, our researchers have also ranked countries by generation.

Lithuania 🇱🇹 is the happiest nation for the under-30s, while Denmark 🇩🇰 tops the table for those over 60.

Indeed, this ranking has been published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network every year since 2012. It takes into account six criteria to determine its ranking of the happiest countries: social support, income, health, freedom, generosity and freedom from corruption.

The Juno7 editorial staff took care to view the 52-page report published by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network. In this report, Haiti was not included among the 143 happiest countries. The top 10 is distributed as follows: Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg Switzerland and Australia.

About the CanadaTHE UNITED STATES and the Francethese countries are positioned respectively at the 15e, 23e et 27e like to Russia East 72e of the rank.

The Brazil East 44e while theArgentine East 48e.

The Dominican Republic who shares the island with Haiti is the 69e happiest country in the world according to the ranking.

L’Afghanistan which has been under the control of the Taliban since 2020 finds itself in last position, i.e. 143e place.

The resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, proclaiming 2012 the International Day of Happiness, was proposed by Bhutan, a country which since the 1970s has favored the index of gross national happiness over that of Gross Domestic Product (GDP ). It was also at the initiative of the Government of Bhutan that senior officials and representatives of religious organizations, universities and civil society met in 2012 at United Nations Headquarters to discuss new means of measure well-being and happiness by going beyond a purely economic paradigm.
