The 99th edition of Livres en Liberté in Marigot lit up the city of Emile Célestin Meggie. Indeed, from April 9 to 12, 2024, the city of Marigot beat to the festive rhythm of the Livres en Liberté caravan, offering a friendly and warm atmosphere, conducive to an exciting dive into the rich and contrasting universe of Haitian literature, which whether classic or contemporary.
THE HAITI FACTOR, April 14, 2022._Spread over four distinct sites, the “Books in Freedom” fair brilliantly highlighted the diversity and vitality of the local and national literary scene, underlining the commitment of the team led by the poet Clément II Benoit to raising awareness among young people from all over the country to the importance of book culture and literature.
At the heart of this exciting literary adventure, the event achieved its noble objective of celebrating reading, promoting the plurality of written expressions and offering a space for sharing and meeting for all book lovers, in the words of Monsieur Benoit, the soul of the festival.
He also expressed his thanks to Me E. Jean-Baptiste Brown, former Honorary President of the Georges Castera library in Limbé who largely supported the Livres en Liberté tour in the Sud’est department.
The 100th edition, which will be held in the City of Les Cayes, promises to be the apotheosis of this unique experience that is Livres en Liberté, the fruit of an initiative supported for more than twenty years by the Georges Castera library in Limbé ( BGCL).
