However, their wait was punctuated by a surprising surprise, as it was announced that an agreement had been reached between the presidential advisers, a deliberate step towards advancing the difficult process underway.

Speaking alongside his peers after this choice which would not have been unanimous, Edgard Leblanc Fils, former senator and unsuccessful candidate for the presidency of the country during the “second degree” elections of February 2016, clearly expressed his position : ” All decisions will be made in council » emphasizing that it is only “ a simple coordinator«.

Mr. Leblanc also addressed the issue of security, assuring the population that measures would be taken to create a climate of security in the country, after more than 30 months of chaos and the expansion of “lost territories”.

The CPT coordinator has pledged to lead the country towards “free, fair and credible elections…”, which he says will involve “constitutional reform”, although he declared publicly during his swearing-in , last Thursday, that he “respects and ensures respect for the Constitution”.

Note that the 1987 Constitution prohibits any popular consultation or referendum aimed at modifying the fundamental Charter of the country, and, according to opinions, Mr. Edgard Leblanc, as a former parliamentarian and president of the National Assembly, should know better than anyone else.
