The time for political pettiness is back!

the-time-for-political-pettiness-is-back!

Since the upheaval which sidelined the interim government of the SDP-Fusion-Phtk and allies, we hoped that the demands and popular mobilizations would lead to an unprecedented situation: that aimed precisely at the overthrow of the petty regime and the flattening of imperialist domination in Haiti for the benefit of the disadvantaged classes. It was well counted, poorly calculated. The Haitian socio-political elite has distinguished itself more in collaboration with the enemy and as always, is active in serving with loyalty, competence and self-sacrifice the capitalist powers whose anti-change forces are more powerful and more sophisticated than ever.

Given their capacity to dominate all the essential points of the country, they were able to quickly recover the movement in order to return us to a situation worse than our starting point. They used their arsenal of domestic slaves to tailor-make us and according to their taste a Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) with the same rejections of society which, not only, are traitors to the homeland but also to authentic agents of the enemies of the country. Between these different individuals and political currents, all suckled at the capitalist breast, no reconciliation, even the most basic, is possible. There will never be homogeneity or agreement in this improbable association resembling more of a “Club of Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves”. Moreover, this is the most striking aspect and the very ambiguity of this forced grouping forming this so-called Haitian executive of the transition.

In this sense, no confidence can be placed in these lackeys serving the country’s oligarchs, representatives of the capitalist class and its corrupt institutions, supposedly coming to the rescue of the Haitian people. No outcome consistent with the interests of workers can be found by these different political parties or organizations subservient to the capitalist system.

As proof, we want the indecent fight that broke out between them over the elections for the presidency and the post of Prime Minister of the Council. It illustrates their petty mentality which makes them unworthy of popular aspirations. They have turned their backs on the values of the country and on their own honor as Haitians and in fact, are incapable of learning the lessons of the past, of projecting themselves towards the future and of finally making decisions capable of restoring Haiti and the Haitians in their trajectory of 1804.

The current fratricidal struggle was not aimed at agreeing to remove Western forces from domination of the country, on the contrary, all their fight results in finding who among them has more capacity, baseness in order to better serve the forces colonial.

These sold-outs are as dangerous as the former de facto Prime Minister Ariel Henry who requested the occupation of the country. They, instead of stopping the process of military intervention to spare the country yet another national shame, prefer to endorse it unconditionally with the ultimate aim of satisfying the four wishes of their bosses and safeguarding their vital interests. Is there not there an undeniable continuity, a class position? Certainly, there is no denial on their part nor any marooning, on the contrary, they assume their conviction by accepting the conditions of CARICOM on the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti (MMAS) to be a member of the Council Presidential.

Instead of breaking with these moribund institutions to prevent the continuation of bad governance in the country, this political class prefers to transform itself into a transmission belt for the regressive measures of the imperialist powers. Facilitating the United States to appear as a benefactor country, ready to play a supporting role in a dysfunctional state where public power has failed. The propaganda is to send to international public opinion the image that Washington sincerely seeks peace and stability in Haiti and why not in the world. And that capitalism would no longer be a mortal sin! Is this the new doctrine that we want to teach to people disillusioned with all these hypocrisies and political pettiness?

It should be remembered that within this Presidential Transitional Council sponsored by Western imperialists with CARICOM as an intermediary, low blows will be part of the life of this multi-headed presidential structure. Everyone plays for their own chapel, which explains why very early on cohabitation proves difficult and anarchic and where each Advisor (President) seeks to appropriate a ministry, general directions and does not hesitate to decry the other for justify and give credit to his action. It is a deleterious atmosphere which reigns within this 9-headed Presidential College which will, without doubt, create a government in its image.

This power will be petty because the protagonists who compose it are shameless people who accepted the unacceptable in exchange for the insidious brutal exploitation of their homeland. If it finally manages to be constituted, this power cannot lead us to any project of national society and its strong point will undoubtedly be the desire for revenge, frustration, intrigues, deception, pillage, mediocrity, forfeiture, baseness, criminal malice and above all the official mafia scheme.

Such a Micmac will prevent us for a long time from raising our heads, from truly remaining a dignified and sovereign country in the face of others. We will only be an object people who will hardly be able to organize themselves, to function without a crutch from the West.

At this stage, is it too late to turn the country around? Definitely No! The main thing is that progressives and revolutionaries must not play on several fronts. Those who are truly committed to the socialist, anti-imperialist camp have the duty to bring new life to the people’s struggle to put an end to this institutional masquerade.

Faced with the main enemy, whether we like it or not, only a decisive break with oligarchic capitalism, which permanently tramples not only the rights of workers, but also the interests of the Nation, will be able to prevent the country from falling definitively. into the abyss. Only the defeat of the capitalists, through a proletarian revolution, can bring us peace, prosperity and an end to all our political pettiness.
