In order to fight gangs in the country, 2,000 Haitian police officers will be sent to Kenya

According to the Kenyan press, a contingent of 2,000 Haitian police officers will be training in Kenya to combat gang groups who are sowing terror in Haiti, particularly in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. This decision was adopted during a meeting between a Kenyan delegation and the Transitional Presidential Council.

Without knowing the precise date of the arrival of Haitian police officers in Kenya, he is also informed that the 2,000 Haitian police officers will follow an intensive course in maintaining order and combat techniques, and this training should last two weeks so that the police officers can return to Haiti in mid-June 2024, when Kenya is due to deploy its first team of 200 police officers as part of the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission in the country.

It should be noted that during a press conference at the White House in the United States on Thursday, May 23, 2024, the Kenyan president, William Ruto had promised that the next deployment of the multinational force to be led by his country in Haiti will crush the criminal gangs who have been sowing terror among the population for months.

He also assured that the Multinational Security Support Mission will have to act in a firm and decisive manner, within the parameters of the law, while firmly declaring that criminal groups have no entity or religion.
