The Parish Priest of Sainte-Anne regained his freedom a few hours after his kidnapping
A source close to the Catholic Church confirmed for Juno7 that the Pastor of Sainte-Anne Parish, Alain Michel, regained his freedom a few hours after his kidnapping this Friday, March 1, 2024, inside the presbytery of the Parish, at rue Carbone by heavily armed individuals.
“Glory to God, Reverend Father Alain Michel is released after the thugs kidnapped him from the presbytery” underlined our source who did not want to specify whether the victim’s relatives paid the kidnappers to facilitate the release of the hostage.
It should be noted that on Friday February 23, 2024, six religious of the Congregation of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart were kidnapped by armed individuals in Port-au-Prince as they were preparing to go to Collège Jean XIII. Since this act, the College has closed its doors in protest.
