The disaster area is located on the outskirts of the Baduel road, not far from the intersection towards the Raban road.

Drama in the middle of a presidential visit to Cayenne. Three people died in a fire which broke out yesterday evening in an area of ​​unsanitary housing on the Baduel ring road. The fire broke out during the night, and the intervention was still underway this Tuesday morning.

At least thirty people lost their homes in the flames. The latter were welcomed at the Stade Jean-Claude Lafontaine.

Another person was injured. The people affected are from the Haitian community. Various Cayenne elected officials, such as Gabriel Serville and the Consul General of Haiti are on site. Emmanuel Macron also visited the site.

The firefighters continue their intervention.

The origin of the fire has not yet been determined.
