A dozen dead and more than 800 injured following an earthquake in Taiwan. The largest earthquake in this country in at least 25 years.
The Democratic Republic of China, Taiwan was hit by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on theRichter’s scale which caused nine deaths and more than 800 injuries this Wednesday, April 3 according to initial estimates.
Fifty people were reported missing while traveling to a national park, authorities said.
Taiwanese television broadcast images of tilted buildings in the Hualien area where the epicenter of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake is located.
The country is also facing a power outage and water supply problems.
