Reflexology, whether plantar or palmar, is an ancestral technique that comes directly from the pharaohs. Fight against stress, insomnia and migraines: it is believed to have many virtues. We will explain everything to you.

Reflexology: what is it?

Originally from Egypt, the reflexology leaves its first traces in Sakkarah, in the tomb of Ankhmahor in 2330 BC. JC.

According to the French Federation of Reflexologists “On his sarcophagus were depicted scenes of dental care, childbirth, embalming, pharmacology and… reflexology! There we observe plantar and palmar reflexology treatments. The translation of its hieroglyphs: “please ease the pain”; “I will do as you please”.

Thus, reflexology designates a natural, manual technique, which allows you to release the body’s self-regulation faculties.

The foot is considered a miniaturized human body: each reflex zone corresponds to an organ, a gland or a part of the body.

Thus, pressure applied to these areas makes it possible to localize tensions and restore balance to the corresponding locations. This is an ancestral and manual practice.

No more stress and migraines!

It’s hard to know where to start when you first enter the world of reflexology.

You should know that this technique is generally plantar but can also be palmar (the hand), ear or facial. And each zone has its benefits. Thus, plantar reflexology allows you to:

  • Fight against stress and its inconveniences;
  • Relax by dissipating tension;
  • Eliminate insomnia and dispel chronic fatigue;
  • Fight against migraines and neuralgia.

Palm reflexology is ideal for:

  • Fight against pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome or hand rheumatism.

The benefits of reflexology are broad. Thus, it also helps with blood circulation problems, regulate blood pressure, fight against respiratory disorders, etc.

However, we must remain cautious, there are some contraindications. It is best to avoid foot reflexology in cases of trauma or inflammation of the feet.

Likewise, if you suffer from respiratory problems such as phlebitis or thrombosis, it is better to avoid. For the rest, just test!
