The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing the interests of the population by rigorously addressing the issue of insecurity plaguing the country. During the program “Guest of the day” on Radio Vision 2000, Presidential Advisor Fritz Alphonse Jean detailed the actions of the CPT. “The decree, giving birth to the CPT, has already been signed by all the members of the Council for publication in the official newspaper ‘Le Moniteur’ this week,” he announced on Monday May 27, 2024.

The former governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) highlighted the necessary measures put in place to fight insecurity. “Important measures will be taken to address the situation,” he declared, emphasizing the constant commitment of CPT members to allow the population to move freely and without fear.

Regarding the appointment of the Prime Minister, the old issue of the central bank informed that continuous efforts are being made to choose a Prime Minister and establish a transitional government. He also urged those spreading rumors to stop their maneuvers, specifying that “no debate has been scheduled for the selected candidates.”

Far from the idea of a debate between the candidates for the post of Prime Minister of the transition, a source close to the Presidential Council confirmed for Loop that the CPT will audition the five (5) candidates selected separately. Indeed, among the candidates, Gary Conille being out of the country, will be interviewed by videoconference. One hour is reserved for each candidate. The other candidates, namely Fritz Bélizaire, Paul Antoine Bien-Aimé, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and Jean Rodolphe Joazil, will answer questions from the Councilor-Presidents in person.

Gary Conille will be interviewed by videoconference at (12 p.m.-1 p.m.), Fritz Bélizaire at (10 a.m.-11 a.m.), Paul Antoine Bien-Aimé at (11 a.m.-12 p.m.), Alix Didier Fils-Aimé at (2 a.m.-3 a.m.), and Jean Rodolphe Joazil at (3 p.m.-4 p.m.), according to our source.

Furthermore, Jean also mentioned the creation of the National Security Council (CNS), an organ which will serve as an interface between the Haitian State and the multinational force to meet security challenges. The announcement of the creation of this body was made last week. “The State must be at the service of the population,” recalled Fritz Alphonse Jean, explaining the ideal relationship between the State and society.

Faced with the bankruptcy of the State, Fritz Alphonse Jean believes that the Presidential Transitional Council must restore the State apparatus to properly organize the city. In this transition period, he urged all stakeholders to “prioritize the interest of the population.”
