May 30, 2016: a report submitted by the Independent Electoral Evaluation and Verification Commission (Cieve) recommends the resumption of the controversial 2015 presidential election as well as the review of several dozen sentences pronounced by the Electoral Disputes Offices. The candidate of power Jovenel Moise had collected 32.76% of the votes against 25.29% for Jude Célestin in these contests.
