The decree appointing Garry Conille as Prime Minister was published this Wednesday, May 29 in the official newspaper Le Moniteur, accompanied by the minutes of his appointment.
According to some reports, the government should be formed this weekend for an installation scheduled for next Monday. This designation, made official on May 29, 2024 in number 25 of the official journal of the Republic, comes less than 48 hours after its selection.
The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) chose former Prime Minister Garry Conille to lead the transition, with a majority of 6 out of 7 members approving this decision on May 28.
Garry Conille, born February 26, 1966 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a physician and former Prime Minister of Haiti under Michel Martelly from September 2011 to May 2012. After his term, he was named regional director of the UNICEF for Latin America and the Caribbean in 2023, overseeing activities in 36 countries and territories in the region.
