Papa Neck is no more. The famous sports columnist and former coach of several Haitian football clubs, Necker Bellevue, died on May 31, 2024, Loop Haiti learned.
Suffering from diabetes and prostatitis, the former coach of Don Bosco of Pétion-ville passed from life to death in his private residence in Delmas.
A family friend tells Loop Haiti that the former Carioca coach was in poor condition. “The last time I saw him, his feet were swollen,” he testifies, indicating that the sports columnist was unrecognizable.
The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) saluted the memory of its “faithful servant” via a press release in which he retraces the journey of Papa Neck, gone for eternity.
“The Haitian Football Federation salutes the departure for eternity of one of its faithful servants, Necker Bellevue,” writes the FHF, which describes Papa Neck as a technician with a magic wand.
“He always held a small stick in his right hand,” recalls the FHF honoring the memory of the coach.
Former player of Victory de Bas du Peu de Chose and the Haitian Racing club, the technician brought his magic to Telemax where he regularly commented on national and international sporting events.
According to a relative of the family, the funeral of the famous football commentator should take place this Saturday.
