Copa America 2024: Brazil outclassed Paraguay in their second match
The Seleçao takes a serious option for the quarter-finals after its resounding victory (4-1) against the Paraguayans with a double from Vinicius Jr.
After a shameful draw (0-0) against Costa Rica in their first match in the competition, Junior Dorival’s gang tried to get back on track by beating the Paraguayan team (4-1) at the Allegiant Stadium. Return of jogo bonito? We are far from there but the Brazilians did the essential with a strong impression.
Vinicius Jr started the hostilities in the 35th minute of play and Savinho doubled the lead in the 43rd minute. 45+3′, Vinicius tripled the lead for his personal double with the score 3-0 at halftime. Back after the break, the Paraguayans tried to avoid disaster, showing another character in the match, then in the 48th minute they found the score reduction goal (1-3) by Omar Alderete.
Lucas Paqueta, who missed a first penalty in the 31st minute, made up for it in the 68th minute, scoring the fourth Brazilian goal.
With this victory Brazil is one and a half feet away from the quarter-finals. It has 4/6 points behind Colombia 6/6 points. The shock match of the last day in group C will put Brazil and Colombia face to face. A battle for the leader of group D.
